Kyiv Art Week, a huge cultural event, will take place in Ukrainian capital for 5 days from June 15-20, 2016. Kyiv Art Week will bring together museums’ and galleries’ projects, art fairs and conferences with the participation of international experts, concerts, performances and social events.
Kyiv Art Week will start with the art fair uniting more than 20 galleries from 7 countries: France, Georgia, Belarus, Lithuania, Poland, Ukraine and Armenia. In addition, D12 will become an exhibition space for private collections of contemporary Ukrainian collectors, including the collection of Igor Voronov, №1 in the top 30 Ukrainian collectors according to Forbes Ukraine.
An important international project of Kyiv Art Week will be the presentation of the collection of the National Gallery of Modern Art of Georgia, which will arrive in Ukraine for the first time. Moreover, the organizers made a cultural route across the capital, which includes Kyiv National Museum of Russian Art, Bohdan and Varvara Khanenko Arts Museum and National Art Museum of Ukraine. On June 16, 2016 Taras Shevchenko Kyiv National University will host an international conference and panel discussion on the topic of the cultural strategy development.
Furthermore, the leading Kyiv galleries, among which there are Shcherbenko Art Centre, Karas Gallery, 32 Vozdvizhenka Arts House, Stedley Art Foundation, Dukat Gallery and Bereznitskyi Aesthetics, will participate in Kyiv Art Week with their special exhibition projects at their own locations.
